ABOUT OUR COOKBOOK

  • Our cookbook is out since february 2026! Find where to get it here (regularly updated list).

If you think your local bookstore should carry it, let them know and tell them to reach out to cookbook@liondancecafe.com . We are self-published, so customer-initiated demand is the best way to get us in stores.

  • After a meteoric round of crowdfunding, the Lion Dance Cafe Cookbook: Authentic, not Traditional by James Beard semifinalist chefs C-Y Chia and Shane Stanbridge is here. With over 115 fully vegan flavor-packed recipes from their Michelin Guide recognized, award-winning Italo Chinese and Singaporean kitchen, tips on making dietary or ingredient substitutions, and vibrant photography by Shane and C-Y themselves, it’ll get you excited to cook up a storm.

  • With over 115 recipes including all our greatest hits, it’s most likely in there along with dozens more for you to discover for the first time.

  • Not at this time due to shockingly prohibitive shipping costs, but if demand is there, we will try to work something out in the future. Interested? Drop us a line at cookbook@liondancecafe.com.

  • Working on it! Stay tuned.

  • A pretty rad one, too! We started doing pop ups way back in 2013 to growing crowds, had the brick and mortar in downtown Oakland from 2020 to 2024 during which we earned a bunch of cool accolades and fed thousands of wonderful people, closed to focus on writing our self-published cookbook and keep doing lots of fun pop ups and collabs with amazing hospitality peers as we began the lengthy process of preparing for our upcoming move to Singapore.

ABOUT US

  • After 14 memorable years of cooking for you in the Bay Area and at pop ups around the US, we are relocating to C-Y’s native Singapore in mid March 2026.

  • Of course! It’ll take us a while to get settled (plus, we’ve earned a break), but cooking the best damn food we can is what we do. It’s wayy too soon to say what shape it’ll take or share any sort of timeline. Sign up for our newsletter to stay in the know, and follow us on Instagram.

  • Yup! We created award winning bar Tallboy’s super fun food menu specially for them. It’s theirs. We’re not taking it anywhere. Keep going and ordering all the food, and say hi for us.

  • If we don’t have an up and running biz yet, hit us up at hello@liondancecafe.com ! You never know, once settled in a bit, we might be able to give your group a food tour, host an intimate cooking class or cook a nice dinner for you in your rental apartment, or at least share a couple food recommendations if we’re unavailable.
